Group Presentation

Well, tonight is my last class for the semester, and it was my group project presentation in my Public Information course. We presented a mock press conference on Hurricane Charley's 2004 landfall in Charlotte County and I must say, we nailed it.

Feels good to be done.

Layout and Design

Blogger has greatly expanded their template engine since the last time I worked on a blog here, and I have to say that I really like it.

As a web app developer, I was not happy with any of the canned templates available, so I've started customizing several that I found out on the interwebbything. Still not happy with it, but it's a work in progress.

For that matter, I'm not 100% happy with Blogger, I'm looking at other options. The one thing is has going for it is that I'm already a big Google user, and this is all tied up neatly with my Google ID.

We'll see, won't we.

A New Blog

Well, this is not my first trip around the blog block, but I'm hoping this one will last.

We've created http://MerrickFamily.com for stuff about what's going on with us, and this blog is an tributary to that. My goal is to have a place to talk about the things that interest me, but only have a glancing connection with what the wife and kids are up to.

What I am considering doing is importing a lot of my older content, but I have to think about that.
